The opportunity with helping kids seems to be that they are pliable enough to shape them somewhat.
When you help adults the focus seems to be more about shaping their environment to fit their needs.
That said, adults do change. They go back to school, quit addictions, lose weight and see therapists. But it's all on their own time. They'll only change when they are ready.
With a kid you probably can push them in healthier directions.
